Finding My Way Back to Dance
"After 35 years away from dancing, I honestly wasn't sure how it would feel to put my ballet shoes back on. Having danced professionally in the past, I wondered whether returning to ballet would bring back happy memories or simply remind me of what I could no longer do.
Then I discovered Joyce Jeffrey Theatre Dance School and joined the Thursday evening class — and I couldn't be happier that I did.
The class is absolutely brilliant. Joyce creates a welcoming, supportive and enjoyable environment where you can challenge yourself, work at your own pace and, most importantly, rediscover the joy of dancing. I have genuinely found my love for dance again.
I feel fitter, stronger and more in tune with my body than I have in years, and I always leave class feeling uplifted and looking forward to the next one.
There are Silver Swans classeS Adult Ballet classes savailable at both Lanchester and Whickham, specifically designed for more mature dancers, so if you've ever thought about returning to ballet — whether you danced years ago or have never danced before — I would say give it a try!
For me, returning to dance after 35 years has been a wonderful experience, and I couldn't recommend Joyce's school highly enough".
